As a Church of England of England Aided school, the Governing Body is responsible for admissions (Admissions Authority). Our policy sets out the process followed by the Governing Body in making decisions about admissions applications.

The Published Admission Number (PAN) for the school is 20.
Admission in the Reception Year is through the East Sussex Co-ordinated Admissions Scheme. All forms have to go to County Hall, details are on the web site link below.
The deadline for applications for the 2024/25 academic year is 15th January 2024. School allocation letters will be sent out from ESCC on 16th April 2024.

Applying under criteria no. 4 'Children whose parents are regular worshippers at St Thomas’, or St Richards’ in Winchelsea or Winchelsea Beach', For parents applying under category 4 ‘regular’ is defined as those who attend church at least once a month and have done so for the previous twelve months, written evidence provided by the priest/minister of St Thomas’ or St Richard’s where they regularly worship. A form is available to download (below) or from the school, which the minister will need to sign. "Parents only need to complete if they are applying under Church Attendance criteria".

Appeals procedure for Reception Admissions September 2023
A panel of school governors will hear Appeals, the Governing Body co-ordinates with the local authority, East Sussex County Council Timetable to administer appeals -https://new.eastsussex.gov.uk/education-learning/schools/admissions/completedParents who wish to lodge an appeal should contact the school office on 01797 226479 in the first instance. The deadline for receipt of appeals for children starting in Reception Year (24/25) is 10th May 2024, appeals received by this deadline will be heard in June/July 2024..
Appeals submitted after the above deadline will still be heard. However, if your appeal is submitted late, your case may not be heard until after all appeals received on time have been dealt with.
Appeals may be heard face-to-face, via telephone or video conferencing or paper-based, depending on current Government guidelines and/or personal preference.
